Oppo has officially announced the launch of its new imaging brand, Lumo, which will be unveiled at the “Oppo 2025 Imaging Technology Night” event on April 2nd at 7:30pm (local time). The brand promises to revolutionize mobile photography with a focus on portrait shots, leveraging advanced optical design and computational capabilities. Oppo’s Chief Product Officer, Liu Zuohu, shared insights on social media, highlighting that Lumo imaging is designed specifically for portrait photography and aims to offer the best mobile imaging system for capturing people.
Oppo’s Lumo imaging system and its innovations
The Lumo imaging system marks a significant milestone in Oppo’s mobile imaging journey. This new technology is set to debut with the upcoming Find X8 series, which will integrate Lumo’s powerful features, including a new ultra-light-sensitive optical system, Danyan original color lenses, and the innovative ProXDR technology for accurate color rendering.
While the specific technical details of Lumo are not fully disclosed yet, the system will combine optical hardware with computational photography to bring about a new era in mobile imaging.
Oppo’s latest Find X8 Ultra model will be the first to feature the Lumo imaging system, showcasing its night portrait capabilities. The device integrates a Danyan original color lens, which works with an industry-first zone-specific color temperature sensing technology. This ensures natural skin tones even in low-light or complex lighting environments.

Early sample images released by Oppo suggest the Find X8 Ultra excels in challenging night scenes, producing accurate and natural-looking portraits, particularly in difficult lighting conditions—earning it the title of a “nighttime portrait photography marvel.”
